The producer

The factory that produces this tea is a local Yunnan boutique brand.

The founder, Mr Zhang Guangyi, has been in the Puer tea industry for 20 years. He has continuously refined the quality of his teas during this time. And his efforts pay off because the result is top-quality tea.

 The Tea

This tea is among Zhide Hongchang’s highest-end teas. Another key point is that the ancient tea tree of “Gongpin”, grows at an altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level.

There is only one road from the tea factory to the Gongpin tea garden. Therefore, the place is well protected.

Additionally, this tea comes from a wild tea garden with rich biodiversity. To conclude, this clean and natural environment gave birth to this exquisite tea.

According to the producer, this tea comes from more than 300 hundred ancient tea trees. Again, difficult to verify such (age) claims. However, you will taste the Gushu material in it if you have some experience with Puer. The raw materials consist of one bud and two-three leaves.

The tea was sun-dried, stone pressed using traditional methods. 

My brewing Parameters at the time of writing: 6.5g in a 100 ml Gaiwan. I brewed this one 16 times.

As with any high-quality Puer, this tea is stable throughout the infusions. The tea also has a low bitterness and medium astringency that transforms quickly into sweetness with plenty of shengjin (the secretion of saliva at the sides of the tongue). 

It has a creamy and thick mouthfeel. It also feels cooling, slightly minty in the mouth with a strong, cooling, floral aroma. Here people call it Hua Mi Xiang 花蜜香 (lit. Floral honey fragrant).

The Cha Qi is strong but comforting, not overpowering.
