About Factory

The White Dragon Company, formerly known as Jinggu Tea Factory, founded in 1959, was one of the six Puer tea manufacturers designated by the former state-run company CNNP in the 1970s with code number “5”.
In November 2003, Jinggu White Dragon (Bailong) Tea Industry Co., Ltd. was established.
The company’s tea factory is located in Jinggu County. At present, they produce Puer tea, White Tea and Red tea.

The Tea

The tea cake material consists of different tea leaf grades, mostly big ones, stems and also Huang Pian.

Depending on the amount of tea you use. You can brew this tea at least 10 to 12 times.

The bitterness in this tea is very low due to its storage (Banna). You need to push It hard to get some. It has a moderate astringency, thick mouthfeel and decent sweet huigan (it has developed a slight sourness but not as sour as some Yiwu teas of this age that have that typical plum sourness, here called Hua Mei). The tea flavour remains in the mouth and throat for a decent time.

The tea has a very particular flavour/aroma profile that I find hard to describe. It tastes woody with some Vanilla and that fruity sour note.

To summarize, this tea is pretty solid for the money. It is ready to drink now as a pleasant semi-aged tea. Or you can age it further if that’s your thing.

About old teas: usually, the wrappers have holes since they are bug-bitten. You may also find tea oil stains.

Commonly, the paper disintegrates over time. And dust appears between the cake and the wrapper. The dust could also be from the bamboo wrapper. You can remove this dust by blowing it out. The easiest way is to brush it off.

Also, note that there might be hair, tea pods and tiny stones/rocks.
