This Raw Puer tea and the Ripe Puer version were released in 2019 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Haiwan Tea Factory.
The name of this product is literally: “Fragrant Gathering for Twenty Years.” Referring to the 20 years commemoration of the factory.
The tea material consists of sun-dried, early spring tea leaves from Menghai.
The tea leaves are small, medium-sized, the blend has many tea buds, some seed and stems.
I did nine infusions using 6.5 grams of tea in a 90 ml gaiwan. However, it can be brew at least ten times.
The brewed tea leaves have some vegetal/beany aroma to it and something sweet. The astringency and bitterness can be relatively high if you push the tea much. Has a thick body, fast sweet huigan that causes one to produce plenty of saliva. It remains in the mouth and throat for a decent amount of time.
It also remains stable throughout the tea session and gets sweeter and sweeter, never dropping into something nastily bitter like some low-quality Puer teas.
It’s a solid tea for the price-quality relationship, superior in quality to many Haiwan teas. This one deserves adding it to your tea collection to drink now or store for the future.
